For 2026, we invite our ICONS to be inspired by the concept of INTERLUDE - a moment to slow down, reflect, and empower others through their own personal life interludes.

Meet friend and icon Luca Gajdus, 42 - a fulltime model and mother based in Berlin.

In an industry defined by constant change, how does she stay grounded and find moments to pause?
We asked her.

In a world that rarely stops, how do you create your own interludes?

“It’s more when I’m travelling -  sitting on a plane, just being there. I’m not doing anything - but also
not on purpose. It just happens. To settle down, I don’t really need quiet. I need to move. I like being
in the busy… while moving, I can let go. It’s like falling asleep - it’s a byproduct.”

What’s your favourite time of day (or night)?

“I think my favourite time of day depends on the season… I like the late afternoon. I don’t
like mornings - I really don’t. I also love very late evenings during the week. It’s the time
when no one needs anything from me. It’s undivided time… I can just fiddle around, do this
and that. I like those two hours of just whatever - just wasting time, really.”

Is there a moment in your day that feels like a quiet interlude - something small, but sacred?

“I don’t really have rituals. I carve out moments where I feel calm, but it’s not the same
every day. Reading a book is something I do when I’m already calm. If I’m not there yet, it
won’t get me there. It’s the physical - moving, walking - that brings me back.”

When the world feels loud, where do you go - physically or mentally - to find stillness?

“Very quiet places can actually have the opposite effect when I’m stressed. It’s easier to
relax when I don’t feel like I should be relaxed. On a dance floor, it can feel very peaceful.
Or in New York, during rush hour at Union Square - I love it. Dissolving into the mass of
people is soothing. When there’s noise, people talking… I can completely zoom out and
focus.”zoom away and be focused.”
